Scrollbars in Flash

Create the text box

Firstly create a text box, click in the properties box and select dynamic text. Choose the multi line option in the line type box. When you have drawn your text box click:

Text > Scrollable.

Now resize the box so that not all the text is visible on the screen.

Adding a scrollbar

When your text is entered give this text an Instance Name “mytext”. Open the Components Panel by clicking on: Window > Components. Drag and drop the scroll bar into your document.
